Grade 5 - Mrs. Baumbach
I have been teaching 5th grade at St. Mary's Academy for 18 years. St. Mary's is an especially wonderful school. I love the small, close environment, the strong sense of community and the family-like relationships between and among the staff and students. I feel affirmed in my beliefs and talents at St. Mary's and I'm honored to teach with such talented professionals. I get to work each day with wonderful, intelligent, spiritual, passionate people committed to the school's mission of following in the footsteps of Christ.
I earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education from SUNY Oswego and a Masters in Educational Social Policy from SUNY Empire. I am married to my best friend and have six children all of whom graduated from St. Mary's Academy. In addition, I have been blessed with seven beautiful grand babies. I cherish learning new things and especially enjoy reading, spending time with our family and friends and playing with my dog, Rascal.
I believe every student in my classroom has been blessed by God with many gifts and talents. My role as teacher is to challenge, stimulate, guide and support my students in their intellectual, spiritual and emotional growth. I hold them accountable and nurture responsibility in my students. I believe learning can be fun and yet grounded in communicating important information and life skills.

Field Trip - "The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe"
"The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe" field trip is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th. Students must bring a bag lunch and drink to eat on the bus before returning to school.
